My make believe friend My best friend lives in Hawaii. We talk every weekend. It's not just me calling. I've tested it. If I haven't called by Sun afternoon he calls me. This has been going on for 5 years now. He's going to Tucson to hook up with this chick. Fine. Plan your vacation to meet her, I can deal with that. But he has a 7 hour lay-over 1/2 hour from my house and he goes and makes plans without me. I had to let him know I wasn't feeling the love.
Potty Humor Rules My second grader has started reading Captain Underpants. Since it is written at a fourth grade level it's really too hard for him. They three and four syllable words are really working the kid but he wants to read it so bad he doesn't care. So he's trudging happily through the tale of the Bionic Booger Boy using words like separator and incredulous, except they come out as "sepamamur" and "ifgurgun".
"What's an ifgurgan?" I ask.
"I don't know."
"Well why don't we try using the sounds on the page?"
I just watched Chicago and Bridget Jones Diary. I have to wonder if Renee Zelwiger(?) went anorexic between movies. I realize actors/actresses often have to gain and lose weight for movies but that seems like an extreme change. She lost her boobs in the process too. She had a great rack in Bridget Jones and then absolutely none in Chicago. Did she have a baby too? That's where my boobs went.
California is trying to pass a law that requires all businesses with more than 50 employees to provide health insurance. They are assuming this will cut $650 M out of the welfare system as well as easing up the situation in the emergency room. I'm all for the last two. I'm all for lower insurance costs. I'm glad they would make the cost of insurance fully tax decuctible for businesses. I see this being a burden for small companies. I also see this as being a reason for companies to choose to business somewhere other than California. I don't think that's a bad idea either. California does not suffer from a lack of industry. It suffers from industry that fails to give back to the community.
